Car manufacturer like KIA , Mercedes etc come up with new color option to lure the Indian customer and in this series matt finish is a great choice for car manufacturer.

Matt finish paint on a car gives it a unique and stylish look, but it requires special care and attention during application. Here are some precautions you need to take to ensure a successful and long-lasting result:

Surface Preparation: Preparing the surface of the car is the most important step to ensure a smooth finish. Before applying the paint, you need to thoroughly clean the surface of the car to remove any dirt, grease, or wax. Sand the surface using fine grit sandpaper to create a rough texture that the paint can adhere to. If there is any dent repaired then use putty, surfacer as per requirement, sand each surface after finish as per product supplier TDS (technical data sheet). Like after dent removal use/apply polyester putty and sand with 80,120 grit sandpaper and use 320 grit paper to sand adjacent area. Clean the surface thoroughly with air and recommended degreaser. Apply PU surfacer and leave for dry and then sand the surfacer with 320 and 400/500 grit paper.

Proper Ventilation: Always make sure you're working in a well-ventilated area like Paint booth when applying paint. Fumes from paint can be harmful and cause breathing problems, so it's important to work in paint booth with air fed mask/dual cartridge mask.

Use Proper Equipment: To get a smooth finish, you need to use proper equipment like HVLP paint spray gun, compressor, and high-quality PU paint. Do not try to cut corners by using cheap equipment, as it may result in an ppor finish.

Test Before Applying: Always test the paint on spray panel before applying it to the car. This will help you determine the right amount of paint to use and ensure that the color is what you're expecting.Paint manufacturer provide shade card to check the same.

Apply Multiple Coats: To get a smooth finish, you need to apply multiple coats of paint as per the paint manufacturer TDS. Apply thin coats of paint and wait for it to dry before applying the next coat or apply without any flash off as per recommendation.

Avoid Touching the Paint: Avoid touching the paint while it's still wet, as it may cause smudges and blemishes. Wait until the paint is completely dry before touching it.

By following these precautions, you can achieve a flawless matte finish on your car that will last for years. Remember to take your time and work carefully to ensure a high-quality finish.

Most Important:- Applying the clear coat / transparent coat is the most important part of the whole activity. Technicians must check right amount of matt clear to ensure the correct/required matt in the systems. Some paint company provide matt binder which must mix with clear in a fix amount and some paint manufacturers provide combination matt clear which mix in correct ratio to get required matt finish.

After applying clear coat , wait for thorough dry the paint and keep the vehicle inside the paint booth. Ensure the surface must be dust free. There is no option to remove the dust after paint film dried as rubbing or sanding is not allowed which create gloss on scuffed surface.
